Patient registration clerk/Patient Access Specialist work in a variety patient registration areas in a health organization.This curriculum provides foundation skills for career as a Patient Registration Clerk. They are responsible for interviewing patients,verifying insurance, registration,financial counseling, obtain information to process insurance claims for payment, telecommunications, guest relation and information. Patient registration representatives enter patient information into computer systems. Data entry is critical to the patient and healthcare organization.
Patient registration representatives work in hospitals,long term care facilities,physician offices,emergency rooms,out-patient surgery centers,or urgent care centers.
