Pharmacy Technician Preparation Certification Course

This 12 day workshop prepares students to enter the pharmacy field and prepare to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's(PTCB) exam. Pharmacy Technicians work in hospitals,home infusions community pharmacies and other health care settings. Pharmacy Technicians work under the direction of registered pharmacist.

Students will learn hands-on training with simulation pharmacy lab and virtual pharmacy externship. Students work with up-to-date current computer technology in filling prescriptions,ordering supplies and inventory control,and process billing and reimbursement.

Student will learn dose calculation,I.V. flow rates,drug compounding, and dispensing of prescriptions.

Medical Terminology specific to pharmacy

  • Defining generic and brand names drugs
  • Inpatient and Outpatient Pharmacy Technicians
  • Clinical Rotation
  • Prepares students to pass Pharmacy Technician Exam offered by PTCB
  • After completing the workshop;students are eligible to take the National Certification exam.

    Requirements:

    High school diploma or GED equivalent
